Information about each interview stage is held in the interview. To access the interview see Add/change an interview.
Stages of the interview:
Setting up an interview -> Interviewee tab
Recording the interview (manual recording operation)
Updating recorded files in preparation for abstracting -> Recording files/Abstract details tab

Project ID
- select from projects by pressing
and selecting the interview
project.
Interviewee details - enter the name and contact details for the interviewee. Only the name goes to the abstract and the contact details are for your use.
Notes -These are entirely for you own use. They could be used to record notes about the recording, as in the example. Shift-F7 - spell checks the notes field using Word.
Select the Recording files tab below or go to save changes.

Date Recorded -
If adding an interview - the date the recording was recorded.
If updating the interview - the date the first digital-file or analogue-side was recorded. This becomes the default date for all the sides or files unless they are overridden - see files and sides.
Interviewer - the name of the interviewer but may be changed.
Equipment - initially defaults to the equipment specified in the project, but may be changed.
Digital OR Tape
Files - If digital was selected the number of actual files recorded.
Sides - If tape was selected the number of actual sides recorded.
Abstracter - the name of the abstracter
When a number is entered in Files or Sides an entry will be added to the table of files/sides on the right of the window. Initially all the recording dates are set to the date recorded.
Individual interview files/sides.
Interview files may need to be changed if file details are different from the interview defaults. For example if an interview proceeds over more than one day or the interviewer or abstracter are different.

To change a file's details double click on the file and make the changes.
File No. - this should not be normally changed.
Recording Date - specify name to override the default
Interviewer - specify name to override the default
Interviewer - specify name to override the default
Abstracter -specify name to override the default
File Note - optional note for this file
Abstract completed date - optional date to keep track of completed individual file abstracts. Pressing today will put the current date in the field. Entering a date causes the file entries to be ticked in the file table.
Save individual file changes press
.
Then select another file or tab or go to save Interview changes.

Photo - an optional photograph may be selected for the interview.
To select the digital photograph press the
button to the right of the field and navigate to the
photograph on disk then press the Open button to select it. The default
types of images are .jpg and .bmp. If another type of image is required
change the Files of type to All Files and select the image. If it does
not display it cannot be used.
Print photo in abstract - Check on to print the photo in the Word abstract.
Note
It is a good idea to create a sub folder called say 'Photos' under the application folder to store photos and select the photos from there. You could create folders for each project for photos. This makes moving and backing up the application and data easy and keeps everything necessary to print abstracts in the same place.
To save changes
to the interview and data on all tabs press the
button.
